On a very non-technical subject but really interesting in a holiday kind of way, my oldest son decided to spend Thanksgiving weekend clogging the driveway with new artwork. Normally, when the kids and their friends grab a bucket of chalk, they decorate the driveway with stick people and their pets walking on clouds.
This was different.
All art in this pictures was made using only small river rocks and wood chips from the front yard. Starting at the bottom, there are figures of a smiley face with tongue hanging out, and a thanksgiving turkey with head on the right side and tail feathers on the left. Way at the top and very difficult to see is a cornucopia and below the picture is a pumpkin.
The neighbors walking off their turkey and leftovers starting comparing my son to the British artist Andy Goldsworthy, a well known artist who also uses natural materials. Of course I had no idea what they were talking about, but I am now inspired to get bigger rocks from the garden supply store and see what happens.
